Hello! We're Lauren Hall and Alexander Hiers, and we're a couple of entrepreneurial adventurers that had the same awesome idea at the same time and knew we just had to team up. Together we formed Jungle Society LLC, a management company for our big plans! After months of researching, gathering excellent advice from experienced investors, and scouring the lengths of Central America before finding the perfect spot, we're thrilled to share Jungle Society's vision for Jungalero.

Jungalero will be an intimate and eco-friendly hotel nestled in the heart of Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Our dream is to create a haven that captures the essence of this vibrant coastal town while promoting sustainability and authentic experiences. With your support, we aim to transform a charming 9-room property into a destination that celebrates the natural beauty and culture of Costa Rica.

Why Tamarindo?

Tamarindo is a slice of paradise on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, known for its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and laid-back vibe. This lively town is a hotspot for surfers, nature enthusiasts, and travelers seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation. You can spend your days riding perfect waves, hiking to volcanoes towering over misty jungles, or simply unwinding under swaying palm trees, sipping fresh coconuts with little umbrellas. Where We Are Now

We're currently in the exciting phase of securing our dream property in Tamarindo. We've identified a compact, 9-room gem that we believe has immense potential to become Jungalero. Our goal is to raise between $50,000 and $100,000 to acquire this property and begin the transformation process. The property comes fully furnished and ready to roll, being currently used as long-term accommodations. All that's really needed to become operational is our added personal touch! Gradually, we plan upgrade the property and its amenities, making it more eco-friendly and more awesome.

Our vision for Jungalero is to create a space that embodies "Pura Vida," seamlessly blending comfort with eco-friendly practices. Here's how we plan to transform the property:

Eco-Friendly Accommodations

Each room at Jungalero will be thoughtfully designed to provide comfort while minimizing environmental impact. We plan to use natural, sustainable materials for furnishings, implement water-saving fixtures, and promote energy efficiency through solar power and smart technology. The rooms will feature natural elements like bamboo and reclaimed wood, combined with modern amenities to ensure a cozy and stylish retreat after a day of exploring Tamarindo.

Inviting Communal Spaces

We envision a property that encourages guests to connect with each other and the environment. The centerpiece of Jungalero will be a welcoming common area, including a comfortable lounge with local art and a library stocked with books on Costa Rican culture and nature, as well as a dining space where guests can enjoy light breakfasts in the mornings. We’ll also have a small, sustainable boutique shop stocked with eco-conscious essentials such as sunblock and razors, an array of convenient refreshments, and locally sourced souvenirs like reusable shopping bags and organic coffee.

Lush Gardens and Outdoor Spaces

Jungalero will be surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping filled with native plants and flowers. These gardens will not only enhance the natural beauty of the property but also support local wildlife and promote biodiversity. Our outdoor spaces will include tranquil seating areas, hammocks, shaded spots for relaxation, and a eventually an open air event shelter for morning yoga or evening gatherings.

Wellness and Recreation

At Jungalero, we want our guests to experience the true essence of Costa Rica. We plan on pairing up with local businesses offering activities that highlight the local culture and environment, such as guided nature tours, surf lessons, and cooking classes featuring traditional Costa Rican cuisine. Our goal is to create a sense of community where guests can connect with the local culture and each other, and be inspired to return home with a bit of the "Pura Vida." Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability will be at the heart of everything we do at Jungalero. We’ll implement practices that reduce waste, conserve resources, and support the local economy. From sourcing organic and locally-produced ingredients for our complimentary breakfasts to providing eco-friendly amenities, we’ll strive to make Jungalero a model of responsible tourism. We also plan to partner with local conservation projects to give back to the community and protect the natural environment.
